Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about building on Equito.
About Equito
Equito is an end-to-end platform that connects founders and co-founders and enables them to build startups together inside a structured workspace. It covers the full journey: finding the right partner, validating the match, collaborating, executing, and preparing for launch.
Equito is designed for founders who have an idea and are looking for the right co-founder, builders who want to join early-stage startups as co-founders, and individuals serious about building and launching companies.
Most platforms stop at introductions. Equito continues after the match by providing a shared workspace, task management tools, agreement support, and AI assistance — allowing users to move from conversation to execution in one place.
Yes. Equito is currently in an early access / experimental phase. Users may encounter bugs or evolving features.
Equito is currently available during an early access phase. Pricing and premium features may be introduced later.
Matching & Conversations
Matching happens in stages: a co-founder expresses interest in an opportunity, a conversation is started, the founder can mark the conversation as a potential match, the co-founder must confirm or decline, and only after mutual confirmation is the match finalized.
A match is a mutual agreement between a founder and a co-founder to collaborate. A match is only created when the founder selects 'Match' and the co-founder confirms it.
As a co-founder: browse opportunities, click "I'm interested", and send a message to the founder. This creates a conversation and counts as an application.
An application is created when a co-founder sends an "I'm interested" message to a founder. This updates the founder's dashboard.
A match is counted when both founder and co-founder confirm the match. Only then is it reflected in stats and Workspace access.
Opportunities can be sorted by latest, relevance, or top match (based on profile alignment). Top match considers skills, interests, and goals.
Yes. However, meaningful engagement and quality conversations are strongly encouraged over mass messaging.
Possible reasons: the other user hasn't responded yet, no match has been confirmed, or notifications haven't been triggered yet. Make sure to check the Messages tab and Notification icon.
Yes. You can stop replying, leave the Workspace, or disengage at any time.
Workspace & Collaboration
Once both sides confirm, a shared Workspace is unlocked where both users can collaborate in real time. Tasks, agreements, and planning tools become available.
The Workspace is a private collaboration environment between matched users. It includes chat, task management (Kanban-style), an agreement builder, an AI assistant, and a shared project structure.
No. The Workspace is only available after both users confirm the match. This ensures that collaboration only starts with clear mutual intent.
To avoid confusion and maintain clarity. Each Workspace is tied to one founder and one co-founder. Roles are fixed within that collaboration.
Yes. Important messages can be turned into tasks inside the Workspace to support execution.
Roles & Profiles
Yes — but not within the same opportunity. As a founder, you create opportunities. As a co-founder, you apply to opportunities. You cannot apply to your own opportunity.
Complete your profile, be clear and specific about what you're looking for, respond quickly to messages, and communicate transparently throughout the process.
Ratings & Trust
After collaboration, users can rate each other based on communication, reliability, and collaboration quality. Ratings are role-specific: founders rate co-founders, and co-founders rate founders.
Ratings may be used internally to improve matching and trust signals.
Legal & Security
Yes. Equito follows modern security practices and GDPR compliance to protect user data.
Equito may provide templates and tools, but these are not legal advice. Users should review everything carefully, and consulting a legal professional is recommended.
No. Equito facilitates connections and collaboration, but outcomes depend on the users involved.
Support
Yes. Users are encouraged to report bugs, errors, or unexpected behavior to help improve the platform.
